After meeting a lovely customer at my solo show in Polperro, I was asked if I could possibly trying designing a tower in rich reds with a hollow inside to allow a small tealight to be placed within the structure. Normally I would advise against this only for I do not know how it will affect the structure and materials in the long run, however, after explaining this we both felt happy to give it a go and see how it faired.
It was enjoyable to try and build something new and see how the support of the structure changes when creating an emptier space inside.
After taking a little longer to work on this piece due to it being a first for me, I was very pleased with the results and the shape it formed. I was also amazed to see how well the piece light up and the gorgeous reflections it created from one small tealight.
